Sample resume from
- "Blue Collar & Beyond: Resumes for Skilled Trades & Services"
- by Yana Parker (Ten Speed Press, 1995)
-
- CHAPTER: Warehouse, Manufacturing, and Electronics
-
-
- Yana's comments:
- Brian mostly liked his job and his employer, but he was getting a bit bored and wanted more authority and responsibility -- not to mention a bit more money. He also felt his loyalty was being taken for granted, and he wanted to get his employer's attention, some recognition, and a career upgrade. We created this as a unique "upgrade" resume, in which Brian proposes both a new job title and a specific strategy he could put into action to improve warehouse operations -- thereby justifying an upward move and a pay raise.
-
- It still took awhile to get results, but this resume did set the stage for his ultimate raise in pay and job status.
